No worries mission trips

Hope For Mexico Missions provides mission trip directors that train and prepare groups before they go on their mission trip.

Training includes:

Itinerary of the trip schedule and overview of all trip events.

What to expect and what to avoid on the mission field.

Basic Spanish communication with the natives.

Preparation in drama, testimony, music, teaching and other ministry areas.

Detailed preparation for any construction or repair projects.

Your mission trip director will make all the food and lodging arrangements for you in Mexico. The director will travel with you on your entire journey from a designated point of your choosing in the United States to Mexico and back again. The trip director will be with you to assist you with any problems that may arise on your journey. You will also be provided with a translator for your journey. There will be no charge for the training and services that the trip director and translator provides you. Any funds given to them by you are strictly voluntary.

Cost of a mission trip

Your mission trip will cost only what is necessary to cover your personal expenses of transportation, housing and food. At our mission facility in Las Glorias, Guasave, we have housing for a group of up to 40 people at a time; this significantly reduces the expense of housing. Most of our meals on a mission trip will be prepared in the kitchen at our mission facility which is located at the beach in Las Glorias.

Any additional expenses are completely voluntary, including personal snacks, meals at restaurant, souvenirs etc.

Financial participation in construction, repair and food distribution projects is strictly voluntary.

The usual cost of a mission trip is approximately $15 per person in your group per day in Guasave. If you include food, housing, transportation, gasoline at$3.65 per gallon, full coverage auto insurance, tolls, visas, ministry materials and vehicle permit expenses; an average 5 day mission trip for a group of 12 people, starting from Arizona, using one van will cost only $196 per person total for everything on the whole trip. This price is so low because we don't charge any administrative, professional or staff fees.

Why Short Term Missions?

The benefit of a youth group, or a small mission group, coming down to serve in Mexico is two fold. The people in Mexico get very excited about receiving the message that any foreigner brings to them. People flock in and give a lot of attention to what the people have to say. Secondly, the visiting group has an opportunity to share the gospel and have an opportunity to impact lives, have an opportunity to see God work through them, and to experience what God wants to do through them. It causes growth in the people that come and also causes growth in the people in Mexico. It helps both groups. Everyone grows and everyone is benefited.

Kinds of Short Term Missions

Hope for Mexico Missions hosts a variety of mission experiences to match the needs and abilities of the groups coming down. Some groups focus on outreach using drama or songs. Other groups prefer to concentrate on using their abilities in the area of small or large construction projects. And some groups do a little of both. Each group serves the Lord and His Church in their own unique way.

Just for Fun

Other things that youth groups can do while they are visiting include surfing the waves at our beach, boat rides with some wave jumping, or treasure hunts on the beach and hikes through the sand dunes. Trips to Guasave, the main city, to buy some souvenirs is also a possibility. Fishing trips with local fishermen normally provide plenty of fish for a good supper. And they can experience how the fishermen fished on the Sea of Galilee. Or if you like, take a scenic train tour through the nearby Copper Canyon.
